Electrical engineering


Electrical engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction, and operation of systems and devices that use electricity and electromagnetism. Electrical engineers work on a wide range of technologies and systems, including electrical power systems, electronic circuits and devices, communications systems, and control systems.

 


They may be involved in the design and development of new technologies, such as computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices, as well as the design and maintenance of electrical systems for buildings, factories, and other infrastructure.

In order to work as an electrical engineer, you typically need to have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Electrical engineering programs typically include coursework in math, physics, and computer science, as well as specialized courses in electrical engineering principles and techniques.

 

Electrical engineers may also be required to be licensed in some states, depending on the type of work they do. Some electrical engineers may choose to continue their education and pursue advanced degrees, such as a master's degree or a PhD, in order to specialize in a particular area of electrical engineering or to qualify for more advanced positions.
